The High Seas, covering 64% of the global ocean, are some of the planet’s most critical yet vulnerable ecosystems. The High Seas Treaty, established under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), seeks to protect biodiversity in areas beyond national jurisdiction. For the treaty to take effect, at least 60 countries must ratify it, making youth engagement vital for building public and political support.

Selected ambassadors will play a key role in advancing these efforts by creating campaigns to raise awareness and drive action for the treaty’s ratification.
