Starting April 2025, the Finance Ministry will provide medical assistance for wealthy individuals as an interest-free loan through the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA).

Announced in the 2025 budget, this change aims to improve the medical welfare system by adjusting support based on income levels.

With this new approach, high-income individuals will receive medical aid as a loan that must be repaid, while low-income citizens will continue to get support without needing to repay costs for medical services, equipment, and expenses not covered by Aasandha.

The Finance Ministry explained that the goal is to prevent people from falling into poverty due to medical expenses and to ensure sustainable support for those most in need.
