Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef inaugurated the “Shades of Mind” art exhibition, a unique showcase aimed at raising awareness of mental health through creative expression.

The opening ceremony took place at the National Art Gallery, where the Vice President was presented with a catalogue featuring photographs and detailed information on the exhibits. Following a photo session, the Vice President toured the gallery, viewing the works and engaging with the young Maldivian artists who contributed to the exhibition.

Organised by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts, “Shades of Mind” seeks to inspire open conversations about mental health by using art as an accessible and expressive medium. The artworks on display explore various aspects of mental well-being, offering both visitors and participants a platform to reflect on the importance of mental health and its impact on everyday life.

The exhibition will be open for public viewing until 17th November, welcoming people from all walks of life to experience the perspectives of Maldivian youth from across the nation. Through their artwork, these young artists present an array of themes and emotions, making “Shades of Mind” both an informative and moving experience for all attendees.
