The removal of Civil Service Commission (CSC) President Mohamed Nasih, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Vice President Abdul Salam, and Election Commission (EC) Vice President Ali Nashat has been added to tomorrow's parliamentary agenda.
A motion submitted to Parliament seeks the removal of CSC President Nasih, ACC Vice President Salam, and other members of these commissions. In addition to the EC Vice President, two other EC members have also been recommended for dismissal, with this motion formally raised from the Speaker's table.
The motion was forwarded after review by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Independent Institutions last week, following a proposal to amend legislation, which would allow the President and Vice President to directly appoint the ACC and EC heads. This proposal has been sent to the Committee on Independent Institutions for further consideration.
