The Nautilus Foundation has opened applications for their 2025 scholarships.

The Nautilus Foundation, established in memory of Ibrahim Umar Manik, sponsors and implements social activities on behalf of Pulse Hotels and Resorts, Manta Air, Dhaalu Airports, Eagle Marine, Riolo Group, and MWSC.

The Nautilus Foundation offers scholarship opportunities once a year, with a special priority to provide higher education opportunities in the fields that the Maldives need most.

The Nautilus Foundation announced the opening of the merit base scholarships next year at a press conference held at the Maagiri Hotel today.

The foundation is offering scholarships in four areas this time. These include doctors specializing in the fields where specialist doctors are needed in the Maldives, Undergraduate Degree in Journalism in Mass Communication, Aircraft Maintenance License Program and Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery.

Students selected for the scholarship are required to serve in the Maldives for at least three years after completing the course. However, it is not required to serve in a particular company, organization or agency in the country. Between 4 and 6 scholarships will be awarded next year.

Speaking at the press conference, Mohammed Khaleel, CEO of The Nautilus Foundation and Partnership Groups, said the scholarships will be opened on a priority basis and all course expenses will be covered for the selected students.

"One area is the opportunities for doctors to specialize. There are few specialized doctors in the Maldives at the moment. That is why we have chosen that field in order to give them opportunities," he said.

There will be specialists to review the applications of students who apply for the scholarship. He said that scholarship opportunities will be opened to build Maldivians, and employment opportunities will be facilitated after completion of their education.

Applicants for the scholarships are required to submit a placement letter or admission letter from the university, center of study. The scholarships are open to those who have not previously studied abroad on a scholarship.

The deadline for applications for next year’s The Nautilus Foundation scholarship is 30th of next month. More information is available at https://thenautilusfoundation.mv/opportunity/ .
