'One Online' has opened the opportunity to contribute to the news agency, from different islands.

The decision comes after several people have expressed their interests to freelance with 'One Online'. With the opening for freelance writers, 'One Oneline' aims to create job opportunities across the country and recruit writes from different corners of the Maldives.

"There are people who want to be in the field of journalism across the country. The decision by One will allow them to write for One Online under their names, in the comfort of their houses. They will be allowed to compile news reports and articles as well," Chairperson of One Online, Minha Faiz Rashad said regarding the decision.

The main reason for the decision was to pave ways to bring news related to different islands directly from the island itself. This will also allow to bring light to the issues faced by island residents to relevant authorities without a third party medium, making it easier for everyone involved.

There are more than one slots for islands with larger populations, whilst smaller islands will receive one slot. Experts in the field will also be training those who are selected.

Interested parties are to mail their resumes to [email protected] on or before May 30th.
