President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu highlighted the significance of maintaining peace and harmony in the Maldives to support the continued success of the country's tourism industry.

In a post on his official ‘X’ account, the President noted that tourism in the Maldives is built on the principles of brotherhood, friendship, compassion, peace, and security.

The Maldives first celebrated National Tourism Day in 2022, marking the anniversary of the opening of the country's first resort, 'Kurumba Village,' on October 3, 1972, in K. Vihamanaafushi.
