Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has revealed that ongoing works of Kulhudhuffushi Airport will wrap up soon, with the operations of the airport commencing coming July.
State Minister for Transport Ministry, Mohamed Zuhair revealed to 'One Online' that works were ongoing at a great speed. Construction of the terminal works are underway as of now, hence according to Zuhair operations would begin as soon as coming July.
A 1200 meter long and 30 meter wide runway has been constructed at the airport. Even though the airport was officially opened last year, operations were put on halt due to the lack of basic necessities.
The construction of an airport in the island was a presidential pledge of former President, Abdulla Yameen.
