Chairman of the Elections Commission, Ahmed Shareef has said that he will not work in any capacity with former President, Abdulla Yameen.

In an interview given to PSM News, Shareef said that there is a possibility of seeing him in a different field during the five year term of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. He expressed his wants to work in the political field in the future.

Speaking further about it, Shareef noted that he does not wish to work beside President Yameen in the political future, given the current situation.

He noted that he does not wish to stay on as the Chairman of the Elections Commission until the end of the term and highlighted that he is set to resign from the position after wrapping up the Local Council Elections in early 2020.

He hinted that there were few chances of seeing him working directly in the government - but chances seem good that he will be seen in a position from a government shareholding company.
