Qatari news network Al Jazeera reported that Israeli forces raided its office in Ramallah, located in the occupied West Bank, on Sunday and issued a 45-day closure order.

An Israeli soldier informed Walid al-Omari, Al Jazeera's West Bank bureau chief, of the court's decision, which was broadcast live.

"There is a court ruling for closing down Al Jazeera for 45 days," the soldier said, according to the network’s report.

"I ask you to take all the cameras and leave the office at this moment," the soldier also instructed.

Footage broadcast by the network showed heavily armed and masked Israeli troops entering the office.

Al Jazeera stated that the soldiers did not provide any reason for the closure order.

This event follows previous Israeli actions against the network. Last week, Israel's government announced that it was revoking the press credentials of Al Jazeera journalists in the country, a move that came four months after the channel was banned from operating within Israel.

The shutdown, however, did not affect Al Jazeera's broadcasts from the West Bank or Gaza Strip, where the channel continues to cover the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestinian militants.

The Israeli military has frequently accused Al Jazeera journalists of acting as "terrorist agents" linked to Hamas or its ally, Islamic Jihad, in Gaza.

Al Jazeera has refuted these accusations, asserting that Israel systematically targets its employees in the Gaza Strip.
