Four people who were unloading glass sheets from a boat in Fuvahmulah City sustained injuries on Saturday in Fuvahmulah City, after the sheets they were carrying fell and shattered to pieces.

The incident occurred at around 9:00 am today. The council received information about the incident at around 9:30 am, Council Vice President Mohamed Fikree said.

Police further confirmed that two foreigners and two locals were injured when they tried to unload sheets of glass from a boat in Fuvahmulah city at 9:32 am today.

"Two foreigners sustained the most serious injuries. A Bangladeshi and an Indian. The Indian man was underneath the sheets of glass. One of them sustained three fractures in his thigh and several fractures in his leg. Two people have sustained injuries to their hands and feet," Fikree said.

He added that the boat was a supply boat loaded with goods from Malé. The two foreigners who were injured today were also working in the island.

Four people were injured in the incident and were taken to hospital, police said.

The case is being investigated further by Police.
