Prosecutor General (PG)'s Office has filed charges against the seven people arrested over the attack on former PG Hussain Shameem earlier this year.
Shameem was attacked by masked men wearing helmets in February. The attack took place outside Shameem's house when he was returning home after taking his son to school. He suffered fractures to his arm and was treated for the injury.
The seven men have been charged with attempted murder using a deadly weapon.
Of the seven, Midhath was charged for planning and carrying out the attack on Shameem, while Jazlan was charged for transporting Midhath to Shameem's place. Maisan was charged with providing means for transportation for the attack.
Rajwan, Shamal, Aban and Zayan have also been charged for allegedly going to Shameem's residence along with others accused of being involved in the crime and getting the bike used to attack Shameem and facilitating the same.
