Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed has alleged that MDP is responsible for the economic regression in Maldives.
In a post on X, Minister Saeed said the former government had accumulated unprecedented debt.
Saeed said the country has not seen such debt over the past 100 years, in response to former minister Fayyaz's comments on social media regarding the dismissal of Aishath Noordeen as Deputy CEO of BML.
Fayyaz called for the government to stop undue influence on BML and the financial sector of the country. He further said that the dismissal of Noordeen from BML while the country is on the verge of economic crisis would cast doubt on the financial system in the country.
In response, Saeed said it is shameful for a minister to have accumulated a 100 year's worth of debt within a 5-year term.
