A delegation from the Ministry of Transport of Seychelles visited Vellana International Airport (VIA) on Friday.

MACL said yesterday that the Seychelles delegation is visiting the country to gain experience and advice on the development of the airport.

The Seychelles delegation includes the Minister of Transport, Anthony Derjacques, senior officials of the ministry and the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority.

They also met with the management of MACL, which was represented by Deputy Minister of Transport Mohamed Aflah and Senior Political Director Muaz Rashid. Honorary Consul of Maldives to Seychelles Mohammed Firag was also present.

"The Seychelles team said the main purpose of their visit was to identify the challenges experienced by Maldives in completing a mega project like Velana International Airport and to use that experience in developing the airport," MACL said.

They also exchanged views on the ideas of an island country like Maldives in developing such a perfect airport. and the development of the VIA. They also shared the vision of the government and the steps being taken to accelerate the work of the airport.

The Seychelles delegation visited the completed facilities of the VAI and observed the use of the facilities, the new terminal under development and other related works.
