Parliament's Judiciary Committee on Thursday approved the dismissal of Prosecutor General (PG) Hussain Shameem.

The Committee made the decision after deliberating on the motion submitted by MP Shahid.

PG Shameem was summoned to the committee meeting earlier today and given the opportunity to answer to the allegations against him.

The motion has been sent to the Parliament for vote. Once the Parliament votes on the motion, a final decision will be made by the President regarding PG's dismissal.
