Tourism Minister Ali Waheed embarked on a trip to Huvadhoo Atoll today, to discuss potential growth areas in terms of tourism in Huvadhoo atoll with the atoll and island councils.
The Ministry revealed that the trip was part of the Ministry's efforts to learn more about the challenges that hinder the growth of local tourism in the islands. The trip is among a series of trips by the Ministry to various islands to hold meetings between industry stakeholders and councils regarding the development of local tourism and the guesthouse sector in various islands.
The Ministry added that Minister Waheed will travel to GDh. Kaadedhoo, GDh. Thinadhoo, GA. Villingili and Kooddoo during the trip.
During the trip, suggestions would be taken towards the development of tourism policies in the atoll.
MITDC MD Mohamed Raaidh along with senior officials from the Tourism Ministry and MITDC will be joining the Minister during the trip.
