Two people have been arrested in connection with the torching of a police vehicle in N. Henbadhoo.

A police offer's motorcycle was set on fire in Henbadhoo on Friday.

"Two 33-year-old men have been arrested for allegedly threatening to harm the police personnel and their families and property at Henbadhoo Police Post and also vandalising the motorcycle of another policeman," the police said in a message to the media.

They were arrested on Sunday following a court order, they said.

Police spokesman, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ahmed Shifan, said the motorcycles of two police officers were damaged by suspects against a police drug operation in Noonu Atoll.
