MP Ibrahim Rasheed has filed a lawsuit at the Civil Court, asking for MVR 304.1 million from Coastline.

Gaddhoo MP Rasheed revealed to 'One Online' that the lawsuit is being filed to cover the damages that were caused after the company had taken back the development of resorts in B. Finolhas (Amillafushi), Muddoo (Dusit Thani) and Kanifushi (Finolhu).

He noted that works were carried out on all of these projects under an agreement between both parties, and that the tasked works were completed.

MP Rasheed added that while they were in the middle of works in B. Muddoo, Coastline had sold the project to Dusit Thani - who had paid them for the damages and works that were carried out in the island. However, Coastline had not paid any amount to MP Rasheed for the works that he had done.

The lawsuit filed by MP Rasheed asks the court to seek MVR 48.77 million for the works he had completed, MVR 8.06 million in damages for assigning a third party and MVR 304.9 million in damages for failing to pay invoices.

MP Rasheed failed to be re-elected to Gaddhoo constituency during the Parliamentary Elections 2019.
