Maldives' most promising bodyboarder Amin Umar Musa has progressed to the secured round of the Visit Maldives Pro 2024, one of the biggest international sporting events in the Maldives.

Visit Maldives Pro 2024 officially launched with a special ceremony held at the Raalhugandu yesterday. The competitive heats of the tournament started this morning.

While Maldivian athlete Ali Javed failed to advance in the first heat of the first round. Ahmed Nazmin won the second heat and advanced to the second round with a score of 6.4. Frederico Castello Branco of Portugal won the first place of the heat.

The subsequent heats were competitive, with Johe Hernandez of Canary Islands, the junior champion of last year’s Visit Maldives Pro event, taking the lead with a big score. He scored a total of 13.5 points. Amin won the second place in the last minute of the heat, defeating Abdi Mohamed of Morocco. He had a total of 10.9 as a score, after surfing a 7.5 score wave in the last minute.

In the second round, Nazmin will compete in the first heat of the round. Amin will compete in the fourth heat of the round.

Visit Maldives Pro 2024, which runs until the 9th of this month, will feature a total of 86 athletes from 14 countries.
