Fenaka Corporation has sent more generators to Haa Dhaalu Makunudhoo and Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo to develop electricity in the islands.

The company said that a generator set of 600 kW has been unloaded at Makunudhoo and was set to make its way to the island powerhouse last night. The generator will be in use as soon as it is installed.

Electricity in Makunudhoo has been unstable with blackouts from time to time since the current generator cannot provide the power needed in the island.

President of the Mukunudhoo Island Council, Mohamed Shakir said that the island has a 230 kW generator and a 200 kW generator at the island which lacks the capacity to provide the electricity needed by the island.

Yesterday, Fenaka said that an 8 mW generator set has been unloaded Thinadhoo and would be installed at the island’s powerhouse very soon.
