Ruling coalition member, Adhaalath Party has failed to submit their audit report to the Elections Commission by the given deadline.

Speaking to One Online, Spokesperson of Elections Commission, Ahmed Akram noted that two parties failed to submit their audit reports to the commission by the deadline. These two parties are Adhaalath Party and DRP. Akram added that they will take action against these parties as stated in the constitution.

Akram also highlighted that the commission will only ask the state to provide funds to parties only after they receive the audit reports.

Four parties had submitted their audit reports within the given deadline. These were PPM, MDP, MDA and JP.

Currently there are nine parties registered at the EC. However, three of these parties do not need to submit their audit reports this year since it hasn't been an year to the inception of the party. These parties are MTD, Labour Party and PNC.
