Maaemboodhoo Pre-School has been infested with 'Huvani', as the surrounding trees have been heavily infested with the bug as well.

Photos that has gone viral on social media show the Pre-School walls and interior being infested with Huvani.

Speaking to One Online, Principal of the school revealed that the surroundings were sprayed with medicine last April as well. However the medicine failed to provide a permanent solution to the issue.

He added that the issue has been raised with the council once again, who had revealed that they had no means to find a solution to the problem either. The council noted that they will seek the assistance of nearby resorts in a bid to find a solution to the issue at hand.

The Ministry of Education has also been notified of the issue, who had assured that they will work closely to find a solution to the issue as well. However, if the bug infested is not controlled soon, there are fears that the school might have to be shut down temporarily.
