Ooredoo Maldives have introduced internet services to Fuvahmulah City, through their Fiber Optic Network.
Powered by Ooreedoo’s own fiber network, the implementation of the services in Fuvahmulah City makes it the very first Gigabit city in the country.
Minister of Communications, Science and Technology, Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal inaugurated the services in the island during a special ceremony on Saturday. The event was attended by Ooredoo CEO Najib Khan, Chief Executive of Communication Authory Ilyas Ahmed as well as Fuvahumulah City Mayor Abdulla Falaah Shareef.
"Launching SuperNet to Fuvahmulah as a Gigabit City shows Ooredoo’s innovation. The innovative youth of Fuvamulah made Lavafoshi, iBay & Followme. So surely, innovation is in our blood. Everyone should follow Ooredoo & introduce innovative services," Minister Maleeh said, speaking during the ceremony.
Ooredoo noted that Fuvahmulah continues to evolve into a flourishing digital hub and expressed how excited they were to support their digital transformation journey with the launch of the first SuperNet Fixed Broadband connection.
