Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom has said that according to astrological calculations, the first of Ramadan would be coming Monday (May 6).

In a tweet sent out on Saturday, the former President noted that calculations reveal that mo Muslim country would be able to witness the crescent moon tonight.

“According to astronomical calculations, the crescent moon for the month of Ramadan will not be visible to any Muslim country after sunset today. Therefore, astronomically the first of Ramadan 1440 will fall on Monday 6th May 2019,” Maumoon said in his tweet.

According to the Calendar, first of Ramadan falls on May 6th as well.
