President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has formed a special board to advise on the salaries and wages.

In commemoration of the International Labor Day being celebrated today, President Solih said that it was his pleasure to form a board to advise the Economic Minister on the salaries and minimum wage.

The Chairman of the five-member board is Mariya Khaalidha (Male’ City). The four other members on the board are Ibrahim Nooradheen, Mohamed Ali Janah, Ali Adam and Mauroof Zakir.

Economic Minister, Fayyaz Ismail said that the board was formed after major research and he believes the board can make fair decisions for the employees and employers alike.

He said that the board consists two members of the employment industry, two members representing the employees and a member representing the government.
