Following the bomb blasts in Sri Lanka last Sunday, several countries have been cautioning their citizens against traveling to Sri Lanka – with some ordering evacuation and calling back non-emergency citizens back to homeland.

As such, the United States have issued a level 3 travel advisory to Sri Lanka. The Level 3 Travel Advisory recommends American citizens reconsider traveling to a country "due to serious risks to safety and security."

"On April 26, 2019, the Department of State ordered the departure of all school-age family members of U.S. government employees in Kindergarten through 12th grade. The Department also authorized the voluntary departure of non-emergency U.S. government employees and family members,” State Department statement said.

While extremist terror group Islamic State has taken responsibility for the attacks which has claimed over 250 lives so far, local police are still trying to apprehend all suspects.

15 more died during a recent shootout between alleged suspects and local police.
