Artificial Beach to be opened as a park for Ramadan

CEO of the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Hassan Shah, has said that they are working to reopen the Henveiru Artificial Beach as a public park for Ramadan.

Talking to One Online, Shah said that work at Artificial Beach is progressing at a fast pace and they intend to open as a public park even though it may not be fully completed by then.

He said that special showers for swimming along with paths, trees, swings and sitting areas would be developed at the park. And the swimming area would be made bigger with deeper water.

The Administration of the former President, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, announced a development in the Artificial Beach area and cleared out the land along with the trees. However, no work began on the land at the end of presidential term.
