Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed that the most number of reported cases of Dengue during the month of April was from Laamu atoll.
According to statistics published by the agency, there were a total of 62 reported cases of dengue from Laamu atoll. Hulhumale’ City followed close behind with 38 reports and AA. Atoll was just behind Hulhumale with 29 reported cases.
HPA revealed that so far this year, a total of 1700 cases have been reported. They added this was an increase compared to the same period of the previous year.
Dengue is a mosquito borne disease, hence several islands are taking preventive measures to avoid the spread of the deadly fever.
