Ministry of Defense has announced that they are seeking to buy radar systems for the Maldives.

According to the Ministry, they are seeking suppliers who can provide radar complete systems. They asked for anyone interested to seek more details by coming to the Ministry on April 28.

The Ministry also requested interested parties to provide estimated budgets by May 2. Even though they have announced the search for radar systems, a specific amount was not revealed.

Speaking to journalists back in February, Chief of Defense Force, Major General Abdulla Shamal had revealed that 13 radar systems were to be placed in the Maldives, and that works on ten were currently ongoing.

Shamal also noted that while Indian military will help with the installation of these radars, they will be maintained and monitored by MNDF.
