President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met up with the council members of Hithaadhoo.
According to the President’s Office, the meeting was held on Tuesday afternoon. During the meeting, concerns of the islanders were shared with the President, along with the current situation of the island and details of what the island lacked as of now.
The council noted that the biggest concern of islands were the lack of water and sewerage systems in the island. They stressed on the numerous challenges that the islanders face due to the lack of such basic necessities.
In addition to this, discussions revolved around harbor repairs, waste management and employment opportunities.
The President noted that the government will give a special importance in solving all the issues that the council has shared, at the soonest possible.
