Employment Tribunal has directed Fenaka to put the recruitment of a permanent employee for the post of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of FENAKA corporation on hold.

The Tribunal issued such an order after Abdulla Waheed, who was the CFO of FENAKA, filed a complaint with the tribunal on October 26 seeking an "interim injunction" to permanently suspend the recruitment of employees for the post of CFO of FFENAKA until the Tribunal decides on the matter.

In its order, Employment Tribunal said that Abdulla Waheed had requested that his previous job be restored, and therefore, he had a right to information that should be legally protected as the legal course of action was to reinstate the job.

The tribunal noted that no employee has been appointed to the post since Abdulla Waheed was dismissed from service, and that the appointment of another employee to the post would cause irreparable damage in such a situation where he should be ordered to restore his job in such a way that the case being investigated by the agency is concluded.

"Until a decision is made in the matter or until the Employment Tribunal issues a decision, we direct FENAKA Corporation Limited not to appoint a permanent employee as the Chief Financial Officer, which was being filled by Abdulla Waheed, and to immediately stop any attempt to hire another person permanently for the post," the order signed by Vice President Fathimath Mahira Mohamed read.

Abdulla Waheed was given the post of CFO of FENAKA on September 11, 2014. He has been removed from the post since October 19 last year before he was dismissed from service.
