Former President Abdullah Yameen's Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs Abdullah Mohammed (Madhanee Abdullah) has been deported from Malaysia.

One Online has learned that Abdullah was arrested when he arrived in Malaysia early yesterday. However, the reason for his arrest is unknown. Neither the Maldives High Commission in Malaysia nor the Foreign Ministry provided further information.

It is learned that Abdullah is still at the airport. He will be sent back to the Maldives on a flight as soon as possible.

Abdullah was arrested in Malaysia because he was listed as an encourager of terrorism.

Abdullah is a member of the PPM Action Committee. He was very critical of the government and President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Channel 13's Hajam program.
