Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has changed its logo to mark 30 years of its service to the Maldives fisheries industry.

The logo was approved by the company's board in June. Mifco, which was officially launched today, has started using it from Wednesday.

MIFCO said the change was made because the old logo, though it has been used in all aspects of the company since it was designed, is difficult to use it in current digital media.

MIFCO said that the new logo was designed after a lot of work with technical experts and using the colours of the old logo, and MIFCO's new logo is a beautiful indigenous logo that can be easily used in all modern mediums.

The logo with 'MIFCO' written on it from Dhivehi will depict a blue fish and the design represents the local fisheries, MIFCO's most valuable base, and the company aims to use it in all documents and products by the end of this year.

MIFCO said that its brand 'Fasmeeru' will also feature scenes that include local traditions and culture in the future.
