Interim Spokesman Firzul Abdulla Khalil has said President-elect Dr Mohamed Muizzu's oath of office ceremony will be open to 1,000 civilians.
Dr. Muizzu's swearing-in ceremony will be held on November 17 at 1645hrs at The Republic Square.
While the parliament is preparing for the ceremony, Director of Media Hassan Ziyau had earlier told 'One' that invitations to attend the ceremony would be sent to around 3,500 people.
"We are trying to ensure that 1,000 more civilians are allowed to attend the ceremony openly," Firzul said. Firzul did not say when the opportunity would be opened or how it would be applied.
MNDF's welfare company (SIWEC) has been entrusted with the task of preparing Dr. Muizzu's oath of office ceremony for MVR 22.9 million.
