Maldivians have started signing petitions to ban Israelis from coming to the country.

The petition is being led by an organisation called the Right Movement. In a Facebook post, the group said that the petition was filed in order to stop Israel's inhuman and ethnic cleansing campaign against the Palestinian people, and to ban Islraeli's from entering Maldives on their passport.

Right Movement said on Facebook that it has decided to make it possible for people to sign petitions in all parts of the country, and that the signature activities were held in different parts of the city yesterday.

There have been campaigns on social media calling for the ban of Israel's passport and severing of foreign relations with the country, and calls for the deportation of an Israeli tourist in the Maldives after he was criticised activities to show that the Maldives was with The Palestinians.

More than 8,000 people have been killed in attacks so far since Israel declared war on Hamas since the October 7 attack.
