The Islamic Ministry has signed an agreement for the construction of two mosques.

The Ministry signed a ceremony held today at the Islamic Centre to build a mosque in Addu City Hulhudhoo and Sh. Milandhoo.

The two projects were awarded to LF Construction Private Limited.

According to the agreement signed today, the 500 pax mosque to be built in Hulhudhoo, Addu City, is valued at MVR 17,488,559.49. The mosque in Sh. Milandhoo is valued at MVR 15,174,897.40

These are two mosques funded by the government's PSIP budget, and are built so that men and women can pray separately. The mosques are set to be completed within a year.

After signing the agreement, Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali expressed his hopes for the completion of the project as per the agreement and hand over to the Ministry.

"We will extend the necessary cooperation from the ministry in this regard," he said.
