The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has ordered Urbanco to halt the sale of land from Hulhumale'.
Senior Communications Officer, Nishan Mohammed Didi told One Online today that the order to stop the sale of the land was issued following a complaint filed by a public individual regarding a long-term rental property in Hulhumale'.
The ACC has ordered the suspension of the land sale at a time when the President-elect's office has expressed concern over the transactions related to the land in Hulhumale' during the transitional phase.
In a statement issued yesterday, the President-elect's office said it was concerned that land was being sold in a hurry, including leasing land to foreign parties.
In a statement, Urbanco said the agency is working in accordance with the guidelines published by the Office of the President-elect, the ACC and the Privatization Board.
The statement issued by the President-elect's office referred to the board's agenda. Urbanco noted that these works are not new. They have already been submitted, the administrative procedures have been completed and the work has been completed to the agreement, said Urbanco.
