President-Elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the PPM/PNC will work to provide a special allowance from the party in addition to the salary and allowances of an MP, for all women who are elected to the parliament next year from the party.

In a tweet today with the “Women Forward” poster, Muizzu said he would like as many women as possible to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections and be elected.

He also called on the PNC and its coalition partner PPM to ensure that women contest at least 20 percent of the seats in the Parliament.

He said he is trying to provide party allowance to women MPs to encourage them to do so.
