Aasandha has introduced a verification step for dispensing medicine which requires an OTP sent to the customer's phone to complete the order.
Aasandha company conducted a series of tests in May this year and formally put the policy into effect in August, although it is currently being followed by select pharmacies only.
Aasandha Company's media officer, Aashiya Solih, told 'One' that the measure has been put into place to ensure the prescriptions filed under the scheme have been provided medication for.
Under this policy, pharmacist will require the ID card number and phone number of the person taking the medicine and will share the information with the Aasandha portal to generate a dispensing code for the mobile number. The transaction will be completed and the medicine will be issued only after the code is shared with the pharmacist.
Apart from the doctor's medicine letter, no other information was sought from the drug stores in the past when it came to issuing medicines.
