The Maldives Red Crescent has extended the emergency fund to help Palestine.

The deadline has been extended for the emergency fund opened to help Palestinians until 12th of next month. The fund was previously open from the 14th of this month until next Saturday.

The decision was taken due to the changing situation in the area and at the request of various parties, the Red Crescent said in a statement.

The statement added that the Palestinian Red Crescent has requested the Maldives Red Crescent to provide immediate assistance. The fund will be delivered to the Palestinian Red Crescent as soon as possible, the statement said.

The Dhvehi Red Crescent Society (DRCS) has received more than Rs 1.6 million in aid to the Palestinian Aid Fund.
