Social media activist Ahmed Ashraf (Shumba) has been released on conditional bail, police said.

Shumba was arrested in connection with a fight that broke out on Kenery Magu last night.

He was produced before a local court, which granted him bail after fulfilling certain conditions, police said.

According to sources, he was arrested on charges of inciting violence and the police said they were looking into the matter.

Shumba is a council member of Maldives Third Way Democrats (MTD).
