Remaining works on The Gardens, a housing project being developed in Hulhumale', has been resumed under Urbanco's supervision.

The project was earlier executed by JAH Investment Private Limited, which was awarded the project in 2017 to be completed within two years.

However, with the project pending for more than five years now, there have been complaints from those who bought apartments from the premises through JAH, and there have been instances of migrant workers who were brought in to work for the project not being paid their salaries and their passports impounded.

JAH had earlier claimed that the delay in completion of the project was due to covid-19 causing inconvenience to the staff and work materials.

Urbanco today said it is currently working on the finishing work of the tenth to lower floors as part of the 'The Gardens' project, which includes plastering putty work, clay and sealing.

Urbanco added that it plans to complete The Gardens in the next six months.

During the second round of presidential election campaign, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih announced that the 'The Gardens' project would be completed within six months.
