The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has said that it is investigating 75 cases related to Fenaka Corporation Limited.
"These cases include cases pertaining to misuse of official position in the operation of the company, allegations of employment of various persons outside the norms, violation of procurement norms of the company and allegations of violation of norms regarding release of funds by the company," the agency said in a statement.
"So far, after investigating various cases related to Fenaka, the company has been directed by the ACC to recover MVR 20,504,491.54 from the money involved in these cases," it said.
Fenaka has also been asked to rectify 92 issues pertaining to the cases, the agency said.
These include 24 issues related to the company's policy, six related to recovery of money lost to the company due to corrupt practices, six things to be investigated by the company, and 48 related to the operation of the company.
ACC said it has prepared a report detailing the potential for corruption in corporation, steps to be taken to reduce these opportunities and the challenges faced in the investigation of corruption cases and forwarded it to the President's Office and the Parliament's State Owned Enterprises Committee.
