More than 40,500 applications have been received in the second round of applications for plots and flats in the Male' area, according to the Housing Ministry.

A Ministry official told 'One' that a total of 40,594 applications have been received till 3 pm to apply for plots and flats under the second round of 'Binveriya' scheme and 'Gedhoruveriya' scheme for allotment of flats in the Male' area.

Of these, 19,347 applications were received for land and 21,247 for flats, the official said.

Over 4,000 plots will be allotted under the second round of Binveriya scheme, while 8,000 flats will be allotted under the second round of the Gedhoruveriya scheme.

Under this phase, the land will be run from Giraavaru Uthhuru Falhu, with a total size of 5,525,000 square feet.
