Man who sustained serious injuries to his arm in the cylinder explosion at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Airport has been transferred to Male' City for further medical intervention.

Speaking to 'One', Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital Manager Mohamed Moosa had earlier said that three men and a woman were injured, and one of them sustained serious injuries.

Kulhudhuffushi Hospital's Media Officer Ahmed Dawood told 'One' that the man with serious injuries was sent to Male' for further treatment.

"We were sent to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of ADK Hospital. The patient's hand was severely crushed. He will have to undergo a major surgery," Dawood said.

He said the next three victims had minor injuries and were doing fine.

According to the police, a cylinder used in the Kulhudhuffushi Airport Fire Training section exploded during refilling and the matter was reported to the police at around 11:45 am. Four employees of Kulhudhuffushi City Airport Fire Department were injured in the incident.
