The State Trading Organisation (STO) has donated MVR 1 million to help Gaza.

STO said on Monday that the money had been deposited in the Gaza Relief Fund opened by the International Aid Campaign (IAC).

"STO and STO group companies have participated in the campaign for the Palestinian people affected by the Israeli attacks since October 7 and have provided MVR 1 million in the name of their employees and shareholders through telethons," the STO said in a statement.

"As the Maldives celebrates the day the nation embraced Islam, Israel continues to carry out inhuman flights against the Palestinian people on the land of Palestine, one of the most significant Muslim lands," the statement said.

The Maldives has been supporting the Palestinians and continues to advocate for the Palestinian independence.

STO stated that the companies under STO - MIFCO, Allied Insurance, Maldives Gas and FSM - stand with Palestine.
