MDP is set to hold its parliamentary primary to determine its candidates for next year's parliamentary elections in December.

The MDP, which controls a large majority with 55 members in the current parliament, has said it will contest all the constituencies.

MDP Deputy Chairman, Finance, Ahmed Abdullah told One Online today that the parliamentary primary will be held in December but no official date has been fixed.

With the six additional constituencies, a total of 93 members will be elected for the 20th session of the parliament.

The Election Commission (EC) has not yet announced the date of the parliamentary elections. However, the commission's chairman Fuad Taufeeq told One Online today that the parliamentary elections will be held at the end of April. However, he did not give an exact date.
