Office of the President-elect, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the remainder of IGMH's annual budget has just enough to pay salaries for the year.

Interim Spokesperson Mohammed Firzul Abdullah Haleel told reporters at the President-elect's office today that the health sector has not ordered supplies for the last six months of this year and hospitals and health centers are now using emergency stocks.

Firzul said two IGMH centers have unpaid $5.3 million for services provided by a foreign company, which could lead to a halt in their services.

Firzul said there is a danger that many services provided by hospitals and health centers will be suspended by the middle of next month due to lack of funds in the budget and lack of orders for health supplies.

Firzul added that it is difficult to get some information as the main hospital is run by a board.
