Several people have been injured in a boating accident at HDh. Dhidhudhoo harbor.

In a message to the media, Police said they received a report of the incident around 7.30 pm. The occupants of the boat sustained various injuries and efforts were on to shift them to a nearby hospital, Police said.

President of Dhidhdhoo Council, Abdulla Rasheed told One this evening that the launch was enroute to Dhiddhoo from HA. Vashafaru with about 10 people on board.

"The launch was entering the harbor when it hit the foothills of the harbour. The launch was badly damaged," he said.

He said 10 people on board were injured in the incident and one of them was in a critical condition. All of them were being treated at Dhiddhoo Hospital, but the details of the injuries are yet to be ascertained, he said.

When contacted, Dhiddhoo Hospital did not respond to calls seeking details of injuries.
