Maldivians on Friday gathered in capital city Male' to show solidarity with Palestine.
A bike rally was held in Male' city to show that Maldivians support the Palestinian cause and rallies were held across the country.
To convey Maldives' solidarity with the Palestinian people, the rally titled 'We Are With Palestine – National Big Rally' was held in Male' at artificial beach. The activities were organised by the International Aid Campaign (IAC).
During the event at artificial beach, the IAC narrated the situation in Palestine and the importance of helping them. The organisation recounted the history of the Palestine-Israeli war, and the movement ended with a special prayer for Palestinian independence.
More than 1,400 people have been killed, and more than 7,000 wounded and 338,000 left displaced in Gaza, according to foreign media reports quoting the United Nations.
Israel has cut power from Gaza and banned the flow of water, food and basic supplies. A private power plant in Gaza has been providing power to the city. However, the engine ran out of fuel late last night and power was cut off.
